Dr. Philip Pearson joined the general surgery team of Surgical Specialists, P. C. in September 2005 after completing a colon and rectal fellowship at the University of Minnesota. After graduating from Princeton University, Dr. Pearson worked as a securities trader in New York City before recognizing his ambition of becoming a surgeon. He then returned to the University of Virginia for a medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University. In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Pearson completed a two year research fellowship at the A. I. duPont Hospital for Children in Delaware where his interest in colon and rectal surgery was solidified.
A recipient of the Jefferson Medical Student Resident Teaching Award in 2003 and 2004 as well as the Resident Research Award in 2002, Dr. Pearson also has co-authored numerous publications and participated in several presentations. He currently serves as the Bryn Mawr Hospital's Baltz fellow and is responsible for supervising medical student education.
Dr. Pearson serves the general surgery needs of our patients at our Bryn Mawr and Paoli locations with a special interest and expertise in colon and rectal surgery.
